Joining PSERN
An organization’s eligibility to use PSERN system is determined according to:
-
Title 47, Chapter I, Subchapter D, Part 90 of the Code of Federal Regulations, which restricts the PSERN radio licenses to being used for radio communications of governmental entities and the following category of activities:
- Medical services, rescue organizations, veterinarians, persons with disabilities, disaster relief organizations, school buses, beach patrols, establishments in isolated places, communications standby facilities, and emergency repair of public communications facilities.
- The PSERN Operator Interlocal Agreement, which states that a PSERN user agency is an entity that is authorized under an agreement with the PSERN Operator to register and use a radio or other device on the PSERN System. The user agency must also be located and have operations in King County, Washington.
Prior to joining, the Radio End-User Service Level Agreement must be executed between the prospective end-user agency and the PSERN Operator. If a prospective end-user agency also requires dispatch consoles, please contact PSERN as a different agreement is required.
